Our story
Samocha began from samosa + chai. Founders Shivendra Gupta and Akash Sagar opened their first tea room in Swaroop Nagar, Kanpur on 29 December 2017.

How it started
Samocha began with a simple idea: serve fresh chai and snacks in a clean, comfortable place where people can stay a while.
KANPUR · 2017The early days
A few milestones from Samocha's first chapter.
Samocha opened its first tea room in Kanpur on 29 December 2017.
A second tea room opened near IIT Kanpur in April 2019.
In 2020, Samocha received city-best recognition and awards from Zomato and Swiggy.
Samocha faced the Covid wave and started franchising; the first franchise outlet opened in December 2020.
Franchise expansion continued through 2026 and remains ongoing.
